Fall..... down?.....

What is the greatest buttrock song of all time? I'm torn so I figured I'd put a few on here and let you decide.

Well it would appear that autumn is just around the corner, Oktoberfest has begun up at Snowbird, Fantasy Drafts are taking place every other day. The tailgating schedule is coming into place and everyone is talking pigskin and BBQ's.

As for around our house, just getting ready for the whirlwind that is the football season. NFL Sunday ticket has been purchased and we're ready for a stream of people every Sunday. Max is doing great with the potty training still not a single accident, Hooray! Steph got a new position at work and starts training in a few weeks, Hooray! Myself I've lost all motivation, but I'm sure I'll find some laying around some where.

Here's hoping to squeeze in a few more rounds sometime before it gets to cold!

Hot!

So I was thinking about all the OG songs I/we used to listen to in highschool, some pretty good stuff actually if you ask me. Just a few quick notes other than updating the music. Max is almost completely out of diapers, still wearing them at night but during the day it's all underwear or pull-ups. No real accidents after 4 days now so I'd have to say thank you to those of you (Foulgers) that reccomended waiting until he was ready and not trying to push it on him.

I'm ready for a vacation anyone else? Maybe some golf on said vacation?

Cheers everyone!

Thoughts?

A. I think that people who feel they have the right to deny someone the right to be happy based only on the fact that what makes said person happy is something they don't agree with are ASShats. It doesn't affect your life one bit if people of the same sex can marry. What do you care if people want to buy clove cigarettes as opposed to regular cigarettes. How are you really affected when I order an entire pitcher of beer with no one else to share it with!

B. If you are an idiot driver 99% of you are. You should be forced to crawl every where you need to go. There's a reason the turn signal is on the steering colum so you can flip it up or down with one hand. If I'm going the speed limit and you use the turn lane to pass me going 15 over (45mph) you better be prepared for an ear full of horn and a stern talking too. Signal for 3 seconds before; turning, changing lanes, merging, and pulling away from the curb.

B1. I laugh every time I see someone pulled over.

C. If you run from the cops or don't obey a direct order lethal force should be used.

D. The United States has the MOST expensive health care system in the entire world.
D1. We rank 37th in quality of care.....

E. I hope you have a good day and don't forget to signal :)

Summer, summer, summer time!

Well it's the end of May and what a summer so far. Layla is growing a bit bigger and starting to seem more like baby and less like a..... well baby. Max has been a handful but then again he always has been. I have to say thank you to Mr. Milne for letting us hang out at the cabin or at least arrive early before everyone else and give our family a chance to relax in the peace and quite of our own mini vacation. Between the cabin, bees game, the super bike races, and itty bitty you name it, it has been a fun and full spring. Max starts soccer and T-ball tomorrow so I can't imagine it's going to let up. Hoping most of you will join us in the next week or 4

The Man of the House?

Well it's been almost 2 weeks and unfortunately I (Joe) have to return to work on Tuesday leaving our little man in charge.....

Well at least he seems to think so. Life around the house has been rather hectic, I'm not sure how we ever had a hard time with a newborn. Because a newborn is like infinitely easier to handle than a 3 year old. Granted they can't do anything on their own but the first month or so it's all sleeping!

Max is doing a very good job loving his little sister and a very good job ignoring everything mom and dad tell him to do. That being said as usual Steph and I feel we are very lucky to have such a good first child.

I've uploaded all of April's pictures onto my picasa website and will update the slide shows on the blog which will take you there as well. As for the rest of our lives, Steph is doing a very good job on taking care of the new baby while I do my best to keep Max distracted and take care of all those jobs that have been piling up around the house when there was always something better to do.

We're all wishing for the weather to clear so we can get to some baseball games and to the driving range at least 10 times ;)

She's here!!

At 4:45pm Layla Belle Romney joined us coming in at 7 lbs 11 oz and 19 inches long.
She'll be here and viewable at around 6:30pm and you're all invited to join us. Don't know room number yet but you can text me for that.

Almost there!!

Fully dilated, so it won't be much longer now :)

4:00pm

Things have started to move along a bit quicker now, still can't see anything happening before 5 and probably not until a bit later but we've seen more movement in the past hour than all the rest of the time combined.

2:30PM

Well not much news, got the epidural about 45 minutes ago. Still looking at 5pm'ish at the soonest.
Watching Thomas Crown affair now :)

A bit behind

Well we're a bit behind where we hoped to be but hey it's not like we've got anything else to do. The doctor was hoping to pop back in between 12:00 and 12:30 to help move things along and........ well sure enough he just walked in. So he's going to break the water now and should speed things up a bit.

10AM

Well we're a couple hours in and things are going pretty smoothly. The doctor has come in and the nurse says everything is going well. Her guess for baby weight is 7 pounds 6 ounces so feel free to post your guesses below. Right now we don't expect much to happen for at least 2-3 hours.

Checked

Well we're here and checked in, nothing to report yet. Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday morning.

Today's the day

We're heading out now, supposed to be at the hospital by 7:30AM MST. :D

Well we're within a week and I've updated the music list to reflect new baby girl! When the day does come stay tuned here we'll be updating the blog instead of calling, text messaging, emailing etc.

Tick, tock, tick tock...........

What the hell!

Who the hell is this guy ^ !!!!

Sorry had to do it!

When things aren't happening to you they take a lot less tim
e. We've been waiting for Layla Belle FOREVER!!!!!!!!
I'm ready to throw sleep away and just get on with it. But then again I've always been a fan of doing my presentation first. Why endure the agony of waiting.

As many of you know my/our good buddy Brad was in town this weekend for a little paintball and cards, it was a very good time. We'll miss him not being in the valley but wish him well in his new location a little farther south. Speaking of Paintball
This guy right down there \/ took a great shot and tagged me right in the ear! Damnit that hurt but it made every hit I took after that not hurt at all.
Where'd he go? Where'd whooooo gooooooooo?
;)

Hey, hey, heyyyyy!!!

Well Max's 3rd Birthday has come and gone and he had a great time making a weak of it!

Max spent his birthday day with CC, then we did Jungle Jim's with the family on the 3rd. We had cake and presents at Grandpa's on the 4th and finally a BBQ with pinata on the 8th.

Thank you everyone for celebrating with us it was a good time.

Max is pretty fascinated right now with what Layla will and will not like. Everything we do, is followed with the question "Will Layla like this?" Good stuff.

That's all really I'm off to watch the Utes game so we'll talk to you all soon!

He picked that pinata himself I had NO influence.

And just one more.

Nothing in particular

Well it's been a little while since this got updated, I really don't have anything in particular to update, it seems our house is in slow motion waiting for the spring. Max can't wait to be able to go to the park, the putting green, the zoo, Lagoon, and any where else he's heard of that can be done when the snow melts. Our golf clubs are sitting patiently in the corner even if their owners are not. And of course the new arrival coming in April, Steph is convinced the time is going to fly by, I on the other hand think 60+ days is still a LONG time.

With the end of Football we were left with only Hockey for sports to watch for a week. Fortunately NASCAR starts up this Sunday with the Daytona 500. Thank you bootlegger for the gift of a real sport to watch in these bleak times. Oh and keeping our ancestors spirits up.

I read the other day the 30 was the new 20!?! That's the most messed up thing I've heard in at least a week. 20 was full of opportunity, all night parties and a total disregard for almost all responsibility. Hell back then the question "When are you going to get to the bar?" Meant what time you would be arriving that day, now it means what day this month.

Smells like teen spirit?

I'm sure this happens to everyone but this morning as I was leaving for work, I walked into the kitchen and smelled the coffee brewing and was instantly transported to waking up at Grandma and Grandpa Romney's house in the avenues -back before I ever thought I'd need more than a dollar to my name in order pay for the ice cream truck-, walking up the stairs holding on to the wrought iron banister to that wonderfully foreign smell. When I came back to my cozy little kitchen there was just a warm feeling inside. Then I remembered it was Costco brand coffee and with no creamer almost undrinkable ;)

Well it's been a while since I've posted a blog. Christmas was a blast and Max can't wait for next year. A whole new room of toys and every Black and Decker toy tool imaginable including a recipro saw (thank you Mason I don't even own a real one). One funny anecdote Christmas Eve I asked Max to put the plate of cookies out for Santa, he walked over to the dinner table the called over, "Where does he sit?"!! Over the holidays we got Layla's room painted when I say we, I mean I got it painted while Steph kept Max distracted, although he did help roll a bit. Is it bad that while I was painting I kept thinking to myself "Damn you are a good painter, taping is for amateurs!"?

New years was a lot of fun because we didn't plan anything at all. I've found that if you plan too much New Years Eve just finds a way to let you down.
We all know what happened the day after the holiday at the Sugar Bowl so no need to go into that. Suffice it to say there was a lot of screaming, yelling, chest bumping and tom foolery.

Back to work now with nothing major happening other than some Birthdays and a couple holidays. The Super Bowl is a mere fort night away so that should be a lot of fun as usual.
